Rachel at Forty-Two Cakes made us an unforgettable wedding cake! Through all the emails, Rachel managed to help us narrow down the perfect flavour combination that reflected us both and the perfect design to suit the theme of our wedding. The cake exceeded all our expectations and the fresh flowers used to decorate the cake complimented the florals at our wedding and shows that Rachel has an intuitive and creative eye for design and style. We received many compliments on the wedding day which continued on after about how amazing and delicious the cake was and luckily, we had some left over to savour and enjoy again after the wedding and it definitely did not disappoint! During the whole process, Rachel was always responsive and willing to provide advice and feedback as I didn’t know much about wedding cakes! We ordered a semi naked wedding cake and requested one tier to incorporate Russian flavours. The result was a delicious, beautiful masterpiece which captured what we wanted perfectly. There was a lot of hype and anticipation, after months of talking it over with friends and getting even more excited– and it was glorious, as I expected. Perfectly moist and balanced flavours, and creamy – Dan fell in love with the expertly chosen figs. I knew what I wanted it to look like, but I didn’t know what sort of flavours I wanted and Rachel completely erased all of my hesitations on choosing the right combination of flavours in our conversations. You made the whole process so smooth and enjoyable, and we so appreciated your thorough and kind communication, and your precise and artistic attention to detail. From our rather vague yet specific brief, you managed to create the most perfectly rose-gold brushed masterpieces. And let me tell you, between the white chocolate/raspberry/coconut cake and the dark chocolate/mint cake... there was not a single crumb left of either at the end of the night. We're fairly sure everyone (including the bride and groom!) had two pieces each and they were both incredible. I don’t think I could pick a favourite, but Mark and I are still talking about the dark chocolate/mint combo… we'd love to order a Forty Two anniversary cake again some day. Thank you.

Forty-Two Cakes was a hero of our wedding - sitting pretty centre stage at our ceremony and our reception. As a couple that wasn't well versed in baking, Rachel provided just the right amount of support and initiative to create a fantastic dessert for us and our guests! Flavours were rich, and the design was impeccable - aligned closely with our wedding colours and our own personal style. People still talk about our delicious wedding cake- and some were disappointed that they didn't get to have two pieces!

We just want to say a massive THANK YOU for our beautiful wedding cake and cupcakes. They were a definite highlight of our big day. I don't think we realised at the outset just how much work we were asking of you when we ordered a small 'top-tier' wedding cake and 220 individually packaged cupcakes for our guests. Thank you for taking it all in your stride, for helping us nut out flavours and designs, and for spending countless hours folding cupcake boxes. The cupcakes were delicious (even though they were a day old and slightly squished from transit by the time we got to ours the next day) and we must admit that we succumbed to temptation and broke into our equally mouthwatering and beautifully decorated caramel mudcake a whole ten months before our anniversary. It fit just perfectly with the rest of our wedding decorations too!

Not only did Rachel make our wedding cake, she also made the most amazing lemon curd for the bonbonniere. Her knowledge of what is possible as well as her creativity made for such an easy process in deciding what type of cake to have. I provided her with a rough idea of what we wanted and she completely made it come to life - and then some. Our guests raved about the cake and lemon curd, and I would definitely say that Rachel makes the best cakes I've ever tasted!

The decorations were beautiful, particularly the sugar flowers, and perfectly matched our colour theme of pink, green and cream. It was very easy to work with you on coming up with creative ideas to on how best to link the look of the cake to the rest of the wedding. Even more importantly, it tasted absolutely delicious. Both flavours (caramel mudcake with white chocolate ganache and salted caramel filling, and dark chocolate with lemon swiss meringue buttercream and lemon curd filling) were moist and full of flavour. All the wedding guests loved it!! Would highly recommend your services to anyone else seeking a creative, beautiful, delicious cake.

Forty-Two Cakes created the perfect cake for my daughter’s christening. In keeping with the theme of “pink and white”, Rachel created a beautiful vanilla raspberry sour cream cake with fresh raspberry swiss meringue buttercream covered in white chocolate ganache and fondant with pink confetti. The most miraculous part of all (and a testament to Rachel’s talent) I had only given her barely 3 days’ notice! The cake and the service I received from Forty-Two Cakes was outstanding.
Not only was Rachel's cake an extremely sexy LOOKING cake but it tasted too divine… so often they look fabulous then taste wise, are not quite tickey boo but this was exceptional… And the passion and love that went in to it was so evident, down to the last minute tweaking on site….

Rachel's attention to detail for the fondant, piping and sugar flowers for our wedding cake was impeccable. But most importantly, I have yet to taste another salted caramel mudcake so moist and full of flavour!
